A Foundation of History
It is rumored that the property is built on the ruins of a pre 15th century building but we can't corroborate this as a fact. The existing property is documented to have been built in the 15th Century, and has benefitted from extensive restorations over the years.
Several 1600s frescoes that were discovered under false vaulted ceilings have been restored. Original mosaic floor tiles were matched perfectly, and new frescoes by William Xerra one of Italy's most important contemporary artists, was commissioned by the former owners to paint many of the formal room's ceilings in the style of the original era.
